Fort Collins Clothing Company Announces Bike Delivery Option
Akinz Boardwear, a clothing company based in Fort Collins, Colorado, announced that it will make bike delivery a permanent option for local online customers.
Akinz team history by being the first Fort Collins clothing company to deliver orders by bike during the June 2010 Bike to Work Day event. The effort was a definite success, with over 60 limited edition “Commuter Tees†sold, and $130 raised for the Fort Collins Bike Co-op.
“The Akinz team had so much meeting our customers and supporting the bike culture in Fort Collins, we decided we had to continue with bike delivery,†said Suzanne Akin, founder of Akinz Boardwear.
Instead of continuing to offer free bike delivery, Akinz will be charging standard shipping costs and then donating the proceeds to a local charity once a month.
Local shoppers will have a chance to help decide which charity gets the monthly donation by voting in a poll on the Akinz website.
The current bike delivery area extends south from Vine to Harmony, and east from Taft Hill to Timberline. Bike deliveries will happen once a week and delivery time from order will be between same day and 6 days.
Akinz was founded in 2005 as a clothing line for those with an active lifestyle who expect the extraordinary. The Akinz motto, “Find your wings†encourages men and women to find the one thing that motivates them to push life to the limit and reach for the sky.
