Bike Month Throwback Charity Tees

Akinz started celebrating Colorado Bike Month for the first time back in 2010 where we featured a Commuter Tee design and delivered shirts by bike on Bike to Work Day (a couple years before we opened our Old Town Fort Collins store!)  We've still been celebrating Bike Month ever since but this year for bike month we wanted to do a little more for a few different bike non-profits in town and decided to do a throwback to re-visit some of those past designs.

For the month of June, 20% of all sales of these 3 designs will be donated to local bike non-profits!

BENEFITS OVERLAND MTB CLUB

Our Mountain Park tee is a new design this year featuring a knobby bike tire with Horsetooth Rock in the background.  It's a visual that local mountain bikers know well.  This design made an obvious beneficiary choice to us of the Overland Mountain Bike Club.    Overland's mission is to: "Promote the active, healthy sport of mountain biking by providing education and assistance to all trail users, and by working to build and maintain quality, sustainable trails that enhance the mountain biking experience." and they spend lots of volunteer hours building and maintaining trails for all us local Fort Collins riders to enjoy each day.  20% of the Mountain Park tee sales for June will be donated to Overland Mountain Bike Club to use for future trail maintenance!

BENEFITS FORT COLLINS BIKE CO-OP

This Bike Month throwback design was our first ever Bike to Work day tee!  In 2010 we launched our Bike to Work day program where a portion of proceeds from the month’s featured t-shirt design would go to a local bike group and we chose the Fort Collins Bike Co-op.   To keep with tradition,  20% of all sales for this design thru the month of June will be donated to the Bike Co-op so that they can continue to help more people get on bikes.

BENEFITS BIKE FORT COLLINS

The Bike Burst design is originally from 2011, but we thought the message around the center sunburst "Bicycles Make the World Go Round" aligned perfectly with the goals of our local Bike Fort Collins.  Not only does Bike Fort Collins focus on building bicycle infrastructure here in town and keeping our streets safe for cyclists, they also launched the Bike Share program for visitors and locals alike to be able to get all over town if they don't have a bike.  They definitely help bicycles make Fort Collins go round.  20% of the sales of this shirt design will be donated to Bike Fort Collins in the month of June!

These shirts will all be available all month in our Old Town Fort Collins flagship store, online & at our Bike to Work Day Breakfast station at Happy Lucky's Tea House on June 28th.  So choose your favorite design, choose your favorite beneficiary or grab all 3 and help our local bike community grow!
