Here at Akinz, we like to think we have one of the coolest jobs around. Every day, we get to roll into our workshop, crank up the creativity, and make cool stuff for people who love life, adventure, and hand-made goodies as much as we do.
But one of the absolute best parts? We have freaking lasers. Yes, actual lasers. We didn’t set out to be laser-wielding wizards, but here we are.
What started with one trusty Glowforge laser (shoutout to our OG workhorse!) has now turned into a full-on laser squad.
Our most recent upgrades include an aeon laser and a fiber laser, which lets us create super-detailed designs on metal, leather, and more. You might’ve seen it in action on our social media (if not, go watch the video of the Akinz crew geeking out over how fast and precise it is—seriously, it's worth it for the jaw drops alone)
Lasers, Leather and Lots of Learning!
Our lasers help bring so many of our in-house creations to life. From faux leather patches on our five panels, curved bill caps, rope hats, and bucket hats—to wood magnets and cozy beanie tags—these little beams of light do a lot of heavy lifting.
We’ve had a blast experimenting with new products like keychains, sunny savers, and other engraved gear. Including our laser-engraved journals. Each journal is etched in-house with original Akinz artwork, turning a simple notebook into a canvas for adventure, creativity, and everyday inspiration.
It’s all part of our creative playground. Testing out new ideas, dreaming up original designs, and learning as we go.
One of our favorite ways to use our lasers lately? Wooden earrings. The precision of laser engraving lets us create crisp, intricate designs. Each pair is carefully engraved and cut right here in our workshop, allowing us to experiment with patterns, shapes, and details that really show off what our lasers can do—small-scale but seriously cool.
Expanding our space and adding new equipment hasn’t just given us more ways to grow our own brand—it’s opened up new opportunities to make custom pieces for others too. Whether it’s a one-off laser-engraved gift or a full run of custom patches, we’re all about helping others bring their creative ideas to life.
