Sunday Funday at the Harmony Pop-Up Market
Sunday Funday at the Harmony Pop-Up Market
The Akinz pop-up market started as a holiday shop, but with continued success, it has formed a collective of over 34 artists. To celebrate all the great makers in the Fort Collins community, we are starting a new tradition and hosting a Sunday Funday event every third Sunday of the month at 2720 Council Tree Ave, Ste 106.
Sunday Funday is a celebration of the local art community in Fort Collins. It is a chance to meet the makers, enjoy spirits and food, and shop local handmade items. We will have different featured artists, exciting demos & food every month.
The Makers
There are over 34 artists showcased in the Makers Shops. There are print artists, handmade jewelry, writers, woodworking, home goods, spices, natural body products, clothing, eye wear and almost anything else you can imagine. There's truly something for everyone.
Melina Bernhardt of Melina Be Creations was at our March event demonstrating how to make her beaded wrap bracelets and how to hand bead earrings.
Amy Hoover whose handwoven throw pillows are featured in our Council Tree Ave Makers Shops was on hand to demonstrate weaving on a small loom.
The Music
Each Sunday Funday event at Front Range Village Shopping Center will feature live music during the event hours from a local artist to help set the mood while you socialize and peruse through the Makers Shops. March featured local musician Steven Coin with acoustic guitar and vocals.
The Refreshments
Deep Eddy Vodka was kind enough to donate some of their delicious vodka to use while sampling locally made Gilberto's Gourmet Goodness Spicy Bloody Mary Mix paired with Habanero Dill pickles from Fort Collins Pickle Company. You can find both items for sale in our Culinary Corner full of locally made food products and Fort Collins based food companies.
Our goal is for you to get to sample as many of the local products as possible, so of course we paired the Bloody Mary Spice Gift Box from Old Town Spice Shop with the Bloody Marys in March.
The Nosh
Nom-Nom-Nom...homemade food using the fresh ingredients showcased in the culinary corner.
In March we sampled pulled pork flavored with Old Town Spice Shop's new Trappers Trail Smokey BBQ, deviled eggs made with the new and super unique Harissa Mustard. (You have to try it!!) as well as all the hot sauces, mustards and olive oils on hand. Stay tuned for what food we will be featuring in April!
The Prizes
Starting in April, when you come to Sunday Funday be prepared to leave with goodies. Prizes and gifts are awarded to select customers and there will be freebies for all attendees while supplies last.
We're still planning all the exciting things we will have for you at the April Sunday Funday Event, but just a hint, be prepared to pet baby goats. ;). April's event will be April 15th from 12:30 - 3:30pm at 2720 Council Tree Ave, Suite 106 (off the roundabout from Harmony)
